Job · small clients

Small, occasional sellers

Some clients sell a little on Etsy, PayPal or eBay: 30 transactions a month, books done quarterly. A sync tool at $20 to $65 a month costs more than the work is worth. Convert their exports when you need them, and pay only then.

Why sync tools don’t fit

How to do it

  1. Download the export

From PayPal, Etsy, eBay, Shopify, Square, Stripe or Amazon, for the period you’re doing. Each guide shows exactly which report to pick.

    Guides: PayPal · Etsy · eBay · Shopify · Square · Stripe · Amazon

  2. Convert it

Drop the file into the converter for that platform. Fees and refunds come out on their own lines, ready for QuickBooks. Your first file is free.

Use: the converter for that platform (table below)

  3. Import it

Upload the file to the bank or PayPal account in QuickBooks Online and categorize as usual. Using Xero instead? The Conversion Kit makes Xero-ready files too.
