What we collect, why, and how to have it deleted.

Effective October 15, 2026

The short version. We collect as little as we can. Most of our tools run in your browser, so your files never reach us. The converter apps handle a file only long enough to convert it. The QuickBooks-connected Transaction Counter reads counts of transactions. It never stores the transactions themselves. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t share it with anyone except the services we need to run the site.

1. Who we are

DigitalBuilds.org (“we”, “us”) is an independent developer based in Michigan, USA. This policy covers this website, our converter apps (FileMod, ShopMod, TillMod, PayMod, SettleMod, CraftMod, BidMod and SwipeMod), the Conversion Kit, the transaction counters, the cash log and the QuickBooks Cleanup Playbook. Contact: support@digitalbuilds.org.

2. Tools that run in your browser

The Conversion Kit, the file-based transaction counters, the duplicate check and the cash log run entirely in your web browser. Files you open in them are never uploaded to us. Any client lists or settings they remember are saved in your own browser, and you can clear them at any time.

4. The Transaction Counter (connected to QuickBooks Online)

The Transaction Counter lets an accounting practice connect its clients’ QuickBooks Online companies and see how many transactions each one has in a month, quarter or year. When you click Connect to QuickBooks, you sign in with Intuit and choose which company to allow. We never see your QuickBooks password.

What we read from QuickBooks: the company name, the number of transactions of each type in the period you choose (for example, invoices, bills, expenses, deposits and journals), and the names of bank and credit card accounts, so transactions can be counted per account. To count per account, the app reads the period’s transactions as it counts them. It keeps only the totals.

What we store:

What we never store: individual transactions, amounts, customer or supplier names, or anything else from the books apart from the counts and names listed above.

Read-only: the Transaction Counter never creates, changes or deletes anything in QuickBooks.

Disconnecting: click Disconnect from QuickBooks next to a client. We then revoke the connection with Intuit and delete that client’s stored keys and counts. You can also remove the app from inside QuickBooks Online; it then can no longer read anything.

Who can see it: only people who sign in to your practice’s account. Each practice’s clients are kept separate from every other practice’s.

Use of QuickBooks data: data from QuickBooks is used only to show you your counts. We don’t use it for advertising, we don’t sell it, and we don’t share it with anyone except the hosting provider that runs the app (see section 6).

6. Who we share data with

We use these services to run DigitalBuilds.org. Each one handles data only as needed to provide its service to us:

We don’t sell personal data, and we don’t share it for advertising. We would disclose data only if the law requires it.

7. Where data is kept and how it’s protected

Our apps and their data are hosted in the United States. If you are in the UK or EU, your data is transferred to and stored in the US. All connections use HTTPS, QuickBooks access keys are encrypted at rest, and sign-in is required for every account page.

8. How long we keep it

9. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to show you, correct, export or delete your personal data, or close your account, by emailing support@digitalbuilds.org. If you are in the UK or EU, you also have the right to object to or restrict our processing, and to complain to your data protection authority (the ICO in the UK). We’ll respond within 30 days.

If you use the Transaction Counter for your clients, you are responsible for having the right to connect their QuickBooks companies, and for telling them how their data is used, as your own engagement terms require.

10. Children

Our services are for businesses and are not meant for children under 16. We don’t knowingly collect their data.

11. Changes

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version. If we make a significant change, we’ll say so at the top of this page.
